Switch to a melee weapon - it can be, e.g. a shovel, a baseball bat or a pipe. You should also take The Furious drug presented in the picture above. It boosts your melee strength for a limited time. Craft one if you don't have any of them. Its ingredients are easy to obtain (search crates and enemy corpses).
